Short Bio: New England Burials at Sea LLC “NEBAS” is the largest east coast provider for customized ash scattering memorials and full body burials at sea events in the USA. Based in Marshfield Hills, MA, the company operates year round from Maine to Miami and on the east and west coast serving all faiths with personalized and affordable services. Recommended and approved by most funeral homes. Properly insured, USCG licensed, uses over eighty one different vessels for up to 400 people (some vintage yachts dating back to 1935) that are clean & current with the latest safety gear.
Scattering prices start at just $495.00 (unattended). Event includes an official ship’s parchment sea burial certificate marking the coordinates of the decedent’s final resting place, eight bell end of watch blessing and a ten gauge cannon salute as the ship circles the flower field and there are many more options to choose from. Families are welcome to participate.
In 2006 NEBAS was founded and has quickly become the leader in at sea services for ash scattering and full body burials from coast to coast. NEBAS works direct with clients and with hundreds of funeral homes across America to honor the final wishes of thousands of people who want to be buried at sea.
Not funeral directors but at sea event providers, Capt White shares real life experiences, USCG requirements, EPA laws, state to state regulations, general certifications required as well as funeral home needs. He will advise the proper protocol for the perfect Sea Tribute. Capt White has lectured at MIT in Boston, at the US Coast Guard, many funeral home continuing education courses from New Hampshire to Dallas, hospice across New England, union halls and more.
