Hi Captain White,

We wanted to thank you so much for the beautiful ceremony that you performed at sea for my daughter Kaylie. We were touched by the thoughtful planning and respectful delivery. We know that you personally chose many of the elements of the service and have such gratitude for how the day went—we sincerely could not think of one thing that was left unsaid.

When we started our journey to Kaylie’s final resting place, our hearts were heavy and we felt despair. At the end of our voyage we felt peace, certain that we have helped her onto her next adventure. When we think of Kaylie, we will think of the clear blue sky and glimmering waters near the lighthouses.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Captain Brad. Just wanted to tell you how much my family appreciated Ken’s final sendoff. I know Ken would have appreciated the nautical touches and especially the flag and cannon. It was a wonderful day. Thank you so much.

We laid my father’s ashes to rest last week in the most perfect and fitting way – at sea.

Everything about this service was excellent and professional – from the first call through planning the details and execution of the day.

Brad is a lovely man and wonderful to work with. He provided a template for an order of service but was flexible to accommodate our wishes. He offered additional services (food, flowers) but didn’t pressure to purchase. It truly was all about making a difficult time easier and allowing us to focus on honoring and celebrating my father.

The ship was beautiful and clean, the crew absolutely wonderful. Brad even arranged for the Coast Guard to be present at the dock prior to boarding for military honors. He created a touching and beautiful final memory of my father thanks to Capt. Brad and New England Burials at Sea. Thank you so very much.

Dear Capt. White,

I am so glad to have received your email of three beautiful photos (each focused on a moment of the ceremony, in high resolution. Everything stands out so clearly.  I like the attached documents and the certificates.

I feel so good that my brother got his wish. He always enjoyed going to places. Most of all, he loved NYC. I am sure he will go there often.

Thank you so very much for sending me three extra copies of the Sea Burial Certificates. Now four siblings has one.

Thank you, again.

Best,

M. Chang - Boston, MA

I just attended a service this past Saturday for my friends mother, father and daughter. It was the most beautiful celebration of life I’ve ever experienced!!! The crew was amazing! Pleasant, helpful, caring and so friendly. In the way out, Captain Brad showed us the sites and explained where we were. The service he did was amazing! His words, his professionalism, you could tell he took pride in his job and he wanted to make it as perfect and comfortable for the family as he could. I loved when he told us all the beautiful places they would visit with the tides. I so recommend this as a way to say goodbye to your loved one!!!! It was seriously the most beautiful thing!!!!

I am a funeral director with 20 years of experience. In my career, which has spanned from New York to San Francisco, my knowledge and experience with at-sea-burials was extremely limited. I decided to contact Captain Brad White at New England Burials at Sea to further educate myself on additional options that I could present to my client families. Upon my phone introduction with Captain Brad, I was greeted in a professional manner with boatloads (pun intended) of information about sea burial from coast to coast including location options, legal requirements, pricing, logistics and more. I found Captain Brad to be extremely thorough with all details and possess a general willingness to go above and beyond for each and every family that he works with.

I recently had the opportunity to work with Captain Brad for the first time on the West Coast, and I was impressed on how organized everyone involved was. The entire event from start to finish was professionally completed with the utmost honor and respect given to the deceased and family. After the deceased was transferred to the boat in a hand-made Navy Burial Shroud, we began a very pleasant boat ride to an area beyond the legal marine requirements, and a dignified service took place on the boat deck. The family participated in the “burial” which offered them necessary closure during an emotional event in their lives. Some members of the family approached me at the end of the service to tell me how happy they were with the services that were provided to honor the deceased wishes.

In conclusion, a professional, dignified service was provided on a beautiful boat with loving family members present. Every wish of the deceased was fulfilled thanks to Captain Brad and his crew. Keep up the good work!

Good Morning Captain Brad,

Although we live in PA, our roots are in New England and the fact that my daughter found your website was heaven sent. I can’t begin to thank you for your understanding and compassion. I know “it’s what we do”.

Your willingness to include our personal wants in readings, songs, and tears was above and beyond. My family was truly overwhelmed and totally at peace.

I particularly thank you for your inclusion of my special needs grandson, Josh, in the tribute as Eleanor meant a great deal to him. However, you might have indicated that the cannon was more than “just a little loud”!

As our lives now begin a new chapter, we have you to thank for our feeling that all is right with the world and well in our souls.

May you continue to have fair winds and calm seas.

For the Rogala/Allen Family

We gratefully thank you,

I highly recommend New England Burials at Sea and Captain Brad White. Captain White is a consummate professional, who provides an outstanding service. He guides you through the process so you understand what to expect. During such a difficult time, Captain White is truly a calming influence. Captain White is extremely helpful and compassionate – a real humanitarian. He created a beautiful and special ceremony for my husband. I have Captain Brad White of New England Burials at Sea to thank for creating such a moving tribute to my husband’s life.

I just finished reading the front page article in the” Patriot Ledger”, on New England Burials at Sea and wanted to share my wonderful experience.  Last month Captain Brad White from New England Burials at Sea scattered my parents ashes off Hyannis, where my family has summered for years. Capt. Brad and his team were very attentive to all our our needs.
The boat was clean and the perfect size for our extended family of 30. My family was most impressed with Captain Brad’s attention to detail , the bag piper at the dock , their favorite song playing during the service, the flower field contained all their favorite summer flowers  and all the grandchildren enjoyed the cannon salute .

Captain Brad and his team made this a beautiful and memorable service for my family.

I had a wonderful experience with New England Burials At Sea! Captain Brad and his team are fantastic to work with! Very personable, kind, compassionate and professional! I was extremely distraught after the passing of my dear husband, and Captain Brad PERSONALLY walked me through the whole process. Offering suggestions and explaining how the service would go. I felt like I’d made a new friend before we’d even met! While the scattering of my husband’s ashes was extremely painful, it was a beautiful experience as well. I can think of no better way that we could have honored my beloved husbands life, and I’m so thankful that I found New England Burials At Sea! This is definitely the  company you should choose when planning the final resting place of your loved one!

Peaceful, pretty, vastly superior to a traditional, depressing funeral and dropping someone into a hole in the ground. We did this based on my brother’s wishes. But now I’d think about making it my own request.  Well managed and executed. No surprises, any expected situations handled by Capt. Brad. Most of all my Mom didn’t have to make any decisions on the day, everything was effectively handled.

The elder Mrs. Hunt called Capt. Brad White “a class act.” This is a compliment rarely given, and important to her daughters on this crummy, crummy day. You got it because you were sensitive enough to take our lead on the service details, and you struck the perfect attitude with her, personally, aboard. The day was, to the three of us, about giving Mom some long-denied, well-deserved peace. You contributed mightily.

Thank you.

Captain Brad – I thought Sunday was the nicest service/memorial/burial I have ever been part of. I think you and your demeanor were perfect….You were respectful that it was our family day but you were personable and took part in it in exactly the right way. My mother really liked you and she is tough nut…..

If you ever needed a recommendation for your business or for you I would give you the highest possible commendations and strongest recommendation. So, if you have a family who is considering, have them call me up or send a note.  Thank you for making a really awful day a nice memorable one. Every one of us was surprised by the fact that this service could be remembered as lovely.

Thanks so much to Capt’s Brad and Tim and their crew for helping us celebrate our parents’ lives in our own very special and unique way!

We were able to relax and enjoy our time together, knowing we were in such caring and competent hands. It was fun to share our music, memories and laughter with you – hope you enjoyed the pepperoni, too! We appreciate your kind words of sympathy, and the opportunity to say goodbye to our folks in such a beautiful and meaningful setting. The event was exactly what we hoped for, and met our parents’ wishes to a tee! And thanks especially, too, for ordering the remarkable sunset on their behalf!

With warmest regards,

Dear Capt. White,

I want to thank you again for all your coordination, attention to detail, thoughtful suggestions  and sensitivity you showed me for the planning of my father’s sea tribute.  Even though some time has passed since his death my emotions are still very fragile and your understated support was very much appreciated.  I take comfort in knowing that we achieved the right tone and sophistication in the Navy tribute.  I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day and now I have a beautiful memory to cherish. The image I hold dear is the wide expanse of ocean with bright sunshine glinting off the waves and the roses slowing expanding their circle of love. When I look at the ocean I will always see my father.

Thank you for everything.

Sincerely,

Capt Brad,

I just wanted to let you know how thankful I am for all your hard work.  Everything you did is greatly appreciated; you excel at excellent service.  Since I was not able to travel and be present, being able to participate via the phone made me (and those gathered with me), feel as if I were there.  To hear you being choked up as you spoke about my husband really sent the message that you care about what you are doing and those of us left behind.

Being unable to be there I wanted to let you know the slide show is such a valuable part of your service.  I certainly hope the video ideas I suggested become something you can use to expand your services even more.

…again Thank You for scattering my husbands ashes at one of his favorite vacation places.  I highly recommend New England Burials at Sea to anyone wishing to have their ashes scattered at sea.

Captain Brad ,

I want to extend a very sincere thank you.  Despite the weather, the memorial yesterday was far beyond our expectations.  You and the crew did a terrific job of organizing the ceremony and answering everyone’s questions.  My sister and I were both very impressed with your services.  Neither of us expected the burial to be so emotionally difficult since some time had gone by since our parents passing, but saying the final goodbye was harder than anything before.  The location could not have been more perfect.  We spent countless years at Hermit’s island …camping in the summer and hiking in the winter.  It is a favorite spot of ours and we always felt close to our family there.  Now every time we look out off the beach we will know that are parents(& Molly) are with us at our favorite place.

I would greatly appreciate a cd of the pictures and music.

Again – thank you for your compassion, knowledge and  assistance in organizing the whole memorial.  Hopefully we can see you in the future on a happier note to catch some Tuna.

Enjoy your summer!

Hi Brad,

Thank you for everything. We were so happy to have found the perfect way to say goodbye to our Dad. He was so talented, spanned so many decades from the 20′s to the new millenium, that we wanted to do something really special to celebrate his life and what he meant to all of us. Fortunately Nancy and John saw your ad in Yankee. Once we were in contact with you you let us know what to expect and how we could personalize the experience of a service at sea which we did and are we ever glad that we did! You and your crew are just the best.

Thanks for everything,

Brad,

Everyone was thoroughly pleased with yesterday’s events, even Leo who “has no use” for boats or the water and Auntie Jo who was very apprehensive about getting on a boat were very happy with how everything went. Thank you for your attention to detail, patience with the elderly, and your efforts to make what is a painful event as smooth and stress free as possible.

Just for the record: Josephine age 94 soon to be 95, Dan age 85, Leo age 79, Daryl age 71, Helen age 70.

Dear Brad,

Thank you for assisting us in bringing my grandfather to his resting place. We really enjoyed the service and I think my grandfather would’ve too. We loved your hospitality on board and we thought it was very nice for you to have allowed my boyfriend and my sister to drive your boat. Thank you for the pictures, they will add a lot to our memories. We will keep you in mind for any future ventures, especially fishing ventures.

Burial at Sea Testimonial

Dear Captain Brad,

My Family and I just want to thank you for everything you did which helped make my mother’s ash scattering so memorable.

The day was perfect, seas were calm, the boat – gorgeous, and the service impeccable. Thanks for accommodating our rather quirky “stick-throwing” as part of the ceremony. As we said so often that day, “Peg” would’ve loved it!!

We’ve told everyone we know about New England Burials at Sea… Thanks again for providing such a dignified farewell.

Dear Capt Brad,

As I scattered my mom’s ashes into the water, I had such a sense of my duties being brought to a close…. So for us to be able to literally take our mum home, and to return her to the place that she so loved…wasn’t just a celebration of her life. It was an act of healing for our own.

My mum had been sick for some time and I had cared for her at home, by myself. It had been a difficult time, and I was struck by the sense of release that I felt, and feel still.

We especially appreciated your easy accommodation of our family’s special needs. My nephew is still talking about having taken the wheel; it did wonders for his ego at a time when he sorely needed it.

Really, we just had a wonderful day, on a number of levels, and we thank you again for your sensitivity, skill and patience.

Sincerely,

Capt Brad..

Thank you so much for a wonderful ceremony.  I so truly appreciate all that you have done for my family and my Grandmother.   …”I found this company through the internet. Their website is very informative and answers alot of questions. This company does attended and unattended scattering of ashes at sea. If unattended the website instructs as to how to ship the cremains. They follow strict EPA guidelines and are very caring as well as professional. We had an unattended scattering 3 miles out to sea. . Brad White was prompt in providing us additional info, and it was enough so we knew exactly how the burial would go, what his credentials were, and what needed to be accomplished before hand. A straight unattended scattering of cremains is only $395. however, we ordered a DVD of the service and had flowers scattered also. He even made my daughter part of the service by including her via phone on the ceremony and described the final resting place of the cremains! We got to add to and edit the ceremony ourselves. Capt. White always kept us updated and responded to our inquiries immediately. Capt. Brad even gave us additional ideas as well as providing us with beautiful memories.”

THANKS!!

Captain Brad,  Just wanted to say thank you to you too.  This was a first for all of us and the service was beautiful.

I told my family and friends how beautiful everything was and that that’s how I want to go when the time comes.  My husband kids with me and says he’s not going to be able to have me cremated.  But I’ve told him and my kids I’d rather be in the ocean, than in a big hole in the cemetary.

My Mom and Dad thought the service was lovely also, as did my Aunts and Cousins and siblings.

Thanks again.

Dear Captain Brad,

Sorry I did not call you as soon as I received your gift but I knew if left you a message I would put off sending you the note that I have been meaning to send for the last year.

I wanted to thank you for making the hardest day of my life an event that was filled with special moments. From our first conversation, I knew you were the person for this special task.  You took the time to call or email me just about every day to either see how I was doing or provide an update.  You took such great care to make sure the day was exactly how I wanted it and to honor Mike and his wishes. I was touched by the time you took speaking with each family member and making sure they had everything they needed that day.   You played an important role in providing us such special memories.  The moments that meant the most to me were when you saluted Mike as he was placed into the sea and the flower field that you suggested after the service.  Your kindness will never be forgotten.  You will always have a special place in my heart!

Thank you Brad for everything.  My 2 younger step sons have been very moved by this trip.  They are wonderful young men and their father is watching over them.  Both of them live in Plymouth and have a view of the sea daily.

Every now and then I questioned myself if I was doing the right thing for Steve; I will no longer wonder about that.  I did exactly as I should have.  What began as a bittersweet day turned to a day full of memories, and reflection of a man who loved his family no matter what.  And loved traveling to Maine for family vacations…………Every time I look to the sea I will see him….Thank you for taking such good care of my family.

Very spiritual and peaceful.  This was my time to remember all the perfect moments I shared with my husband.

As the clouds opened to sunshine we all knew Steve was with us.  This was a day none of us will ever forget, and one of the most important events of my life….I carried out the wishes of my husband……and it was beautiful.

This was one of the most important things I have ever done for someone, and I am so fortunate to have been able to carry out Steve’s wishes.

We look forward to receiving the certificates I know it will mean a great deal to all I give them too.

All the best,

Captain Brad,  I wanted to express our deep appreciation for your personal attention and assistance to our family as we prepared for and held the sea tribute for our mother. Your calm demeanor, attention to detail, and kind regard for our family, not to mention the luck of perfect weather and a calm sea, made the experience as beautiful as we could have imagined. I’ll never forget the beautiful words you spoke, and the full bugle honor guard was a true privilege. The beauty of the day and the sight of the rose petals as we circled the area are embedded in my mind’s eye forever. It was a perfect tribute to our mother and reflected our wishes exactly.

Thank you again for your service and the good work of your crew. We look forward to seeing and sharing the pictures with those who couldn’t attend.

Please feel free to share this testimonial with clients and use me as a reference.  With best regards,
