New England Burials at Sea announces South Florida fleet expansion with historical Presidential Yacht, Ranger Tug boat and luxury sport fishing vessels to better serve funeral directors, client families and veterans.

Dateline: Marshfield Hills, MA, and Fort Lauderdale FL – November 9, 2015

NEBAS founder, Captain Brad White recently announced at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show the addition of five additional vessels to their Florida burial at sea fleet

Capt. Brad White said, “ I am delighted to make available these additional vessels on the east coast of Florida to even better serve our burial at sea client families giving them faster and easier port access to the Atlantic Ocean now with historical presidential vessels, nostalgic tug boats and fast sport fishing vessels.

The former 92’ US presidential yacht the Honey Fitz served five U.S. sitting presidents and was actually originally commissioned as an ultra fast submarine hunter during WWII. She then became the presidential yacht for Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon. “She is in pristine condition with loads of nautical presidential memorabilia aboard that history buffs and veterans will truly love and we look forward to using her for scatterings at sea,” said Captain White.

White added, “We are even prouder to announce a brand new six passenger (plus crew) Ranger tug boat available this winter for our trawler cruising client that fast cruises at 20 knots in full air conditioned comfort departing from the Jupiter & Stuart areas of Florida for up to six passengers. She is fresh, new and comfortable and can operate most anywhere in coastal Florida”, he commented.

Capt. White added, “In addition to our vessel in Miami and by adding a few in Fort. Lauderdale it made a lot of geographic sense to do so for our south Florida full body sea burial program. In Lauderdale recently added a 56’ sport fish vessel departing from the Oort Everglades inlet area for fast gulf stream access to the 600’+ depth requirement just five miles east of the beach allowing for a shorter three hour +/- round trip at sea event making it even more comfortable for grieving families.”

East meets west..NEBAS has added these South Florida vessels to their already established west coast vessels departing from Tampa, Clearwater and Sarasota, FL.

White added, “Our long term goal is to equip NEBAS clients (Funeral directors, consumers and veterans) with a nearby port of departure no more than an hour’s drive time from their home area for the most convenience.

Capt Brad also commented, “Now that NEBAS has added more vessels in Florida, Funeral directors can offer the burial at sea service with great confidence and comfort knowing that a reputable, licensed and insured company like NEBAS has suitable, clean and well equipped vessels available for their client families on a moment’s notice”.

At the conclusion of the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, Capt White added, “South Florida is the recreational capital of the eastern part of the USA during the winter months and we wanted and needed to be prepared for our growing business there. We have well trained Multi-lingual associates that are compassionate and experienced to serve families in their time of need as well as licensed funeral directors who keep a close eye on attention to detail while assisting with specific ADA needs for our senior citizen clients. All in all this allows us an even higher service level and we can now deploy anywhere in Florida with as little as 48 hours notice if need be.”

In addition to our civilian sea burials, Capt White added, “Retired Army Capt. R. Christan Haufler, who is in charge of our Veterans program, was pleased that we added vessels to our growing sea burial program in Florida which has a huge population of veterans, disabled veterans and seniors that may need the convenience of our ADA program. Capt Haufler is a practicing attorney with Haufler family law in FL and MA and works closely with NEBAS and their veteran clients to help confirm veteran’s benefits including earned shore side honor guard with American flag folding / presentation and helping to coordinate the needs of veteran benefits for widows and children.
