 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New England Burials At Sea now offers Scattering Services

From Maine to Miami

Marshfield, MA– New England’s most requested at sea burial service continues to expanded and is now offering affordable, individualized and personal memorial ash scattering services from Maine to Miami.  The company also travels off shore for full body burials with their exclusive ocean friendly Atlantic Sea Burial Shroud®.

The USCG inspected vessels take family & friends three miles offshore for private ash scatterings by a licensed U.S. Coast Guard Captain, along with selected clergy if desired to respectfully attend to a loved one’s final wishes. The Company ensures a loved one their final requested resting place at sea, while relieving family of significant financial burdens in their time of distress.

Burials At Sea may be attended by up to 40 people plus crew on many standard vessels and more on larger ones.  The trained crew conducts a dignified and well-thought out memorial service that can be customized to specific needs, wishes, religion or taste.  If preferred, a family member or other designated person may conduct all or part of the ceremony.  Ocean friendly wreaths, florals, music, poems, readings, prayers, bag pipers, Taps, military cadre and other no cost or low cost options are also available.

At the close of the service, loved ones receive a commemorative distinguished keepsake burial certificate, indicating the date, time, depth and exact latitude and longitude of the ceremony so that area can be visited at a later date.

Requests can be accommodated within 24-48 hours, depending upon the weather and season. The service may be attended or unattended and viewed from the shore.  Photography of the service is also available,  in 2011a live video feed can be simulcast worldwide to family members that may not be able to attend but who can easily log on line to watch the event.

Territory coverage includes Maine to Florida. Recognized by the EPA, US Navy, U.S.C.G. and many area funeral homes and crematories, New England Burials At Sea is building a network of approved and qualified sea burial certified™ captains on the east and west coast of the USA.

Ash Scatterings Within Sight of Lighthouses

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

burials-lighthouseScattering the ashes of loved one within sight of lighthouses or other distinct coastal landmarks is a great way to give families and friends a location to visit with their loved ones from shore.

Lighthouse locations offer scenic views and in most cases make fantastic picnic areas. It is also an affordable cost cruise since it typically takes no more than 15 minutes to travel out to a suitable spot within sight of the land mark of choice. New England Burials at Sea typically supplies ash scattering certificates stating the latitude, longitude and date of the ceremony and will also include the distance and direction. For example: “5 miles North Northeast of Scituate Lighthouse in Scituate, Massachusetts.”

The distance and direction is also a nice touch to add to published obituaries or notices sent to friends and relatives who could not attend services, but would like to pay their respects at a later time.
